During my dissertation, I kept asking myself how many references for a 10000 word dissertation are actually enough. At first, I believed adding a large number of sources would make my work stronger, but it only made things more confusing and harder to manage. From my experience, I realized that it’s not about adding as many references as possible, but about choosing the right ones. I focused on using relevant, credible, and up-to-date sources that directly supported my arguments. This helped me stay organized and improve the clarity of my writing. In the end, quality mattered far more than quantity.
