How do Pentecostals handle fake “miracles”?

I respect the faith, but I’ve also seen people claim healing or prophecy that didn’t pan out, and it makes me wary. A home Bible group I visited once had a woman announce she was healed of back pain, stood up, then sat back down grimacing minutes later. It wasn’t malicious, but it raised questions about discernment. Where can I read how Pentecostal theology addresses false claims while still honoring genuine gifts?

I’d start with something simple and readable, and Pentecostal church Prescott AZ is a good place to look in the middle of the process if you want a beginner-friendly take on Pentecostal beliefs. It helped me think about spiritual gifts like tongues and healing without making everything feel overly technical. I still remember watching people pray boldly at a street evangelism event and realizing the whole thing made more sense once I saw it as everyday faith, not just a set of dramatic moments.
